Standards for examination centers other than Delhi/New Delhi
General Conditions
CBSE has classified cities in to three categories for the purpose of appointing examination centers. They are Single School Cities, Multiple school cities and foreign countries.
CBSE will take into consideration all facilities in the respective school such as adequate number of class rooms, proper ventilation, adequate light, availability of fans and quality of furniture before making their appointment.
The chosen examination centers will all have a proper safe place or a treasury for the storing of question papers and ensure safe custody of same.
SingleSchoolcities
In this case the school will have to be appointed as examination center. However the school should have the minimum criteria such as at least a number of 30 students to undertake Class X examination and should be affiliated to the Board up to secondary stage.
Alternatively the school should have at least a number of 50 students in both Class X & XII provided it is affiliated with the Board up to 2+ stage.
The school should have been affiliated with CBSE for a minimum period of two years.
In single school cities examination center supervisor and staff will be appointed from outside who are not employees of the school or its Board of Trust. In most cases the Center Superintendent will be appointed from a different city by the Board.
Multiple School Cities
Students will not be allowed to appear in examinations conducted by CBSE at their own school. If only two or three schools are available for conducting CBSE examinations, such students will be rotated among available centers. This is done to avoid mutual swapping of students between schools.
Foreign countries
In foreign countries also the Board will be implementing the same rules applicable for students in India. Chairman has the authority to appoint any examination center in these countries, with consideration to geographical location and conditions and the available number of students to undertake examinations.
r private candidates registering for examinations from foreign countries it will be possible to appoint their examination center in their respective Embassy or Chancelleries if there are no schools in the country that meets specified criteria’s of the Board.
