Eligibility criteria for entrance to affiliated schools

  •  A student will be granted permission for admission to any class in any affiliated school provided he meets with the following criteria.
  • The student has earlier been studying at a school or educational institute affiliated with the Board. If not recognized by any other approved Board for Secondary Education in the country.
  • The student has passed qualifying examination for the relevant class or have attained other equivalent qualification
  • Qualified within the maximum and minimum ages limits stipulated by the Board and as legalized by the State or UT Government pertaining to location of applied school
  • Students should provide the following documents to ensure their eligibility
  • Previous school leaving certificate or transfer certificate endorsed by relevant head of studies in that institution.
  • Copies of documents to ascertain the validity of qualifying examination results or equivalent qualifying results.
  • Valid date of birth certificate from the Registrar of birth/deaths to verify student age.
  • Other conditions
  • If a student has been following studies at a school or any other  educational institute not recognized or affiliated by the CBSE or any other Board of Secondary Education under UT or State Government, such students will not be given admission to any class in any of the affiliated schools even if student submit all supporting documents.
  • Qualifying examinations as stipulated by the examination by laws of CBSE means student having successfully undertaken the relevant examination to be eligible for the applied class. Equivalent examination is any examination conducted by a recognized Board of Secondary Education or affiliated educational institute or university and identified as being on par with the specified qualifying examination.
  • Students migrating from foreign countries will not be allowed admission in affiliated schools unless they have previously studied in an affiliated collegeof CBSEwhich is located in that country. Alternatively such students can request for eligibility certificate from the CBSE. Such certificates could be obtained only by providing a full detail report by the principal of the school to which student has made his application. The principal should submit a detail report clarifying the student’s position, previous study details and make his own recommendations and comments. If the Board is satisfied that the student meets with required eligibility criteria and have passed equivalent level examinations in the previous resident country, the student will be admitted to the applied school.
  • Students who have previously been expelled, debarred from appearing in any corresponding examinations due to any reason will not be entertained for admissions in any Board affiliated school.
  • Students will not be given promotions or be upgraded to higher classes unless the student has successfully completed regular course of studies in pertaining classes to which the student was admitted at commencement of academic session.
  • Student’s application received after 31st August will not be considered for admission into Class IX or above in any affiliated schools. The only exception will be made for students who have obtained previous permission from Chairman CBSE or other competent authority as stipulated by State or UT Education Act. Such applications should be forwarded to the Board through the principal of the applying school giving details for delay in application. Such students should fulfill specified attendance requirement of minimum 75% for Class IX and above for him to be eligible to take term end examinations even after admission to school.
