Scheme of AIEEE

The entrance examination is conducted by CBSE on two tier paper levels. Paper 1 will include the subjects of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics with equal weightage given to each subject. Questions are presented in an objective type as appearing in BE-B.Tech programs. The paper 2 consist subjects of Mathematics, an aptitude test Architecture planning, test and drawing. The aptitude test is conducted as a means of testing a student’s imagination levels, perception, creativity, observation and normal architectural awareness.

Paper marking procedure for AIEEE

Students will face an examination paper with multiple choice questions presented in an objective style. Students will loose one fourth of the cumulative marks allotted to each question in the case of incorrect answers. However, if a student does not respond to a specific question and leaves it blank in the answer sheet no deduction will be carried out from the total marks obtained. Therefore CBSE advices students to leave questions of uncertainty blank without attempting doubtful answers as it will result in negative marking in the overall result. Likewise students attempting multiple answers for one question will be treated in the same negative marking manner. All answers should be attempted only in the provided answer sheet by using a ball point pen in either black or blue color.   

Language for AIEEE examination

Students have the opportunity of facing examination in either English or Hindi language. The preferred language should be indicated in the prescribed application form of CBSE. Once a student indicates his/ her preference for a language and application form is accepted for examinations by CBSE any consequent changes will not be entertained by the Board.

Eligibility criteria for AIEEE

Minimum academic qualifications required by CBSE to take the AIEEE examination is an overall pass in Class XII 10+2 examination or an equivalent examination accepted by the Board. Those students who are currently undertaking Class XII examination could also apply for AIEEE examination for CBSE consideration and to be admitted on a provisional basis. 

Examination application procedure

Students could apply for examination registration by log in to the CBSE official website and submitting their registration on line on the prescribed application format. Alternatively application forms cold be obtained via post from the AIEEE Assistant Sectary of CBSE. Another method of obtaining application forms for AIEEE examination is to contact relevant CBSE regional centers, Syndicate bank’s designated branches or any other designated educational institute. Students should note that application forms could not be obtained via postal procedure other than contacting CBSE direct at head office.
